Track Name: Red Rover
Skipping rocks... On the highway... The asphalt's where the children play... Play hide and seek in the alley ways... Climbing up and down the fire escapes... Red rover red rover pulled a taxi over... In search of refuge in the hills... The children little children couldn't follow... As they watched an old friend head to a land with a canvas that spills... Eventually... The hills spill in to the concrete... This is where the children meet... To gaze out the maze at what could be...
Track Name: Possum Pete
Down by the bayou where the gator stays... I met a man who would never ever dream of leaving that dark and desolate place... He had hide like leather he was old and weathered and he floated down the rivers for days... Upon days... Weak people of the cities and the cramped neighborhoods... Possum Pete sends his word... Stay out of the woods!
Track Name: Signs In The Pines
A froggy chorus sings in the night... And i lie awake... With something on my mind! I'm not free here... The fields, the farms, the woods... Say "posted no tresspassing," I guess it's understood... That's a mighty fine lake... Theres creatures in that brush... These trees were made for climbing... But the signs say do not touch... Well if you've got the money... Then you've got the land... What happened to exploring? These laws say that I can't! A morning bird song lifts my tired head... But lately i've been thinkin i'd rather stay in bed... 'Cause a fellow can't think with traffic in his ears... But nature is off limits... And explorers live in fear... So buy up the forests and sell off your soul... 'Cause if this land is everyones... Who's left to control? I'll leave my foot prints... On forbidden ground... And this land will be ours... There's adventure to be found...
Track Name: I've Met Some Gators
I,ve met some gators and they've chewed up their babies and the ones that made it out alive... Grew up to be kind of crazy and they've got a real mean bite... They're always picking fights... Singing "me and the boys are going out tonight and we're gonna smash some fuckers heads in"... Doesn't matter if anyone does anything at all... They just wanna brawl... We are the human race worn torn and weathered... Like an old vulture... That aint got no feathers... Picking off the flesh of something already dead and gone but we can't repair the past so we sing our happy songs and we sing... We sing... We sing a lot... And we sing...
Track Name: Keep a Cheerful Melody
In the dark... Where the creatures creep and crawl... I'm whistling a tune... Nah I aint scared at all... 'Cause the moon is shining bright... And the stars are out tonight... I saw one of 'em shoot... Across the Autumn sky... And I called out loud... Ah what a sight!... Well it gets hard my friend but I swear that it gets better... Just try and keep a cheerful melody in your heart... Keep it with you through the stormiest of weather... This is the art of keeping from falling apart... Well my mother once said... "Never stop making your music"... If you've got something to give... You better go ahead and use it... 'Cause nothings set in stone... And one day you're bound to lose it... This too shall pass... Nothing can ever last... So don't dwell on the past... And don't forget to laugh... No matter where you're at... Keep that melody coming back...
Track Name: One Day
One day... You will know... You will know all there is to know... You'll pass the time... And you will find that day that day will never show... Before you know you'll grow old the line will end it's your turn to go...
